Its Wednesday–you know what that means!


Its been ages since I did a “real” WIAW post. For almost a year now I’ve been detailing some of my favorite eats of the week, sharing a new recipe, or doing a write-up of a restaurant. I honestly can’t remember the last time I did a post where I detailed all of what I ate in a single day. I’ve certainly strayed from what Jenn detailed in her original reasons for starting the weekly link-up, and its high time I got back into the swing of things.

So today, I’ve got an oldschool WIAW post for you. Check out what all I ate yesterday!


I told you oats would be making their way back into my life! These were steel cut oats from Bob’s Red Mill, made with almond milk, and topped with banana, berries, chia seeds, and melted almond butter from Maranatha.

This breakfast is brought to you by Costco! The oats, chia seeds, frozen berry mix, and almond butter were all bulk scores from that heavenly warehouse. All 4 items I bought months ago, and I still have months to go before I need to replenish. Here’s to single-life savings!


Snacks were these lovely little coconut balls from Fairweather foods. They make these with shredded coconut, coconut oil, agave, and cinnamon. The darker one has cacao powder. I had one in the early afternoon about 2, and another before teaching yoga at 5.

I forgot to snap a pic of lunch, but it was also from Fairweather. I had to grab it in the 10 minute break between meetings I had today, and ate while on a conference call, so I had not time to take a pretty picture. Just so you know, I had beet and cabbage soup that was to die for, and a side salad. All homemade with local ingredients. Right up my alley!

Dinner was thrown together in a hurry. After teaching, I was starving, and while I had planned to make a broccoli soup, I didn’t feel like waiting around for it to simmer and cook. So I threw this together.


Chopped spinach topped with sauteed zucchini, 2 eggs fried in coconut oil, and some white cheddar cheese. It actually really hit the spot.


Dessert was my normal bedtime snack of plain greek yogurt, chia seeds, and berries. Side of Yogi Tea to get me ready for sweet, sweet sleep.

  1. I try to stick to traditional WIAW posts – although it definitely doesn’t happen every week. Annnnd I eat breakfast and lunch at my desk almost every day. Which probably isn’t a good thing, considering that I work from home :-S

  2. Why can’t they sell coconut bites like those near me???? Gosh I would kill to have those around for snacks. I honestly need to just suck it up and buy my own

  3. I love that you eat your foods out of bowls – just like me! It just tastes better from bowls, hands down.
    I mostly mix some cacao powder with PB2 and coocnut milk for bedtime snack – if I want more protein, I add some protein powder in it too.
